Shelburne Falls Area Women's Club

Celebrating 85 years...1925-2010

The purpose of the Shelburne Falls Area Women's Club is to support community projects and programs benefiting local children and youth and to unite and involve the women of the community in an organization promoting cordial personal relations and community service. The SFAWC promotes interest in and appreciation of the arts, literature, music, local history and programs of common interest. Membership is open to all women in the West County area and beyond! Janice Dompke and Winnie Ganshaw are Co-presidents and Christin Couture is Vice President of the Club. Meetings are program-based and are held at the Shelburne-Buckland Community Center, Main Street in Shelburne Falls except in September, December and May.

The Women's Club is proud to support the Bridge of Flowers, which was initiated by the Club in 1929. The Bridge of Flowers Committee of the Women's Club is nonprofit and its gardeners and volunteer members work hard to keep the Bridge's many flowers, plants, trees, shrubs and vines growing beautifully throughout the season. Executive Committee: Julie Petty, Marion Taylor, Judy Harlow, Eleanor Baker and Elaine Parmett.

Visit the Volunteer page to find out how you can spend some time on the Bridge, meet the gardeners, and have fun learning about Kolkwitzia amabilis!

Also visit the Friends of the Bridge page to find out how you can be a Friend and the benefits provided.
